According to this year’s United Nations Human Development Index, Norway is the best country to live in. The other countries that made it to the top ten are the following:

3. Iceland
4. Canada
5. Ireland
6. the Netherlands
7. Sweden
8. France
9. Switzerland
10. Japan
The index lists 182 best countries to live in and is ranked based on 2007 statistics on life expectancy, gross domestic product, literacy, school enrollment and other criteria.
